Fighting The Good Fight - Peter Zahoruk - Innocent!

It's not funny, it's tragic...you know... how some people will seek to exploit the court system for their own benefit. I was stuck with a person who wanted to see me suffer for not engaging in an extortion deal that ended up bringing down the whole case in front of a Judge.

Since that time I've learned quite a bit about trust and the depths at which some people will go to target a person. In the matter of my case, settled before ANY trial in ANY provincial court, my team simply had to see the matter through until evidence was provided of innocence. 

Unfortunately, since the mental health is involved of all parties, it's a difficult matter to discuss. Although I proved my innocence in court, I still am resolved to the truth and the fact that at the end of the day, no trial was ever held and my name was cleared by honesty and a good legal representative.

As soon as my legal team produced evidence that the claimant was not telling the truth and witness evidence was produced, the Judge ended the legal matter and it was finished. I still had to deal with personal grief but felt confident in my ability to go on.

I will continue writing about this matter on a regular basis to continue upholding my name.

It's difficult to conceive of anything more destroying than false charges yet here is where we are. Years later and I'm still chasing down false Internet reports and worse among those years old media reports that accused - but did not follow up - with the outcome of the matter. 

The judge in my legal case ruled that evidence collected and provided by the police was inconsistent with the truth and so thus, it was dismissed before ever making it very far in the legal system.

Furthermore, the matter was dismissed at the point I provided phone records of an attempt at extortion for $1200 by multiple parties abusing the court process. Quite simply, I had the favor of evidence and my extortionist did not. Furthermore, there were so many lies by the claimant that the judge in the case said the reputation of the entire court system was at risk shall the matter continue.

Still, that doesn't mean on first glance my Internet record looks great. I have been traumatized by the entire process and know that I will recover. If you are reading this, and you found your way here, give me a break.

Almost a decade ago, I was a different person. A group of people took advantage of me because they thought I had access to money. I did not, and could not afford the extortionist's price sought to drop charges so I found myself in the unenviable process of proving myself in court. I did and I still am clear of any criminal record.
